Church membership

If you are interested in becoming a member of Grace, the first step is to attend a “Get to Know You” meeting with our Pastor.  Then, you’ll be invited to meet with the Session (ruling elders) to give your Christian testimony.  Lastly, we ask you to take your membership vows before the church during Sunday worship.   In addition, our elders have prepared a “Distinctives of Grace” teaching series that will help you become more familiar with the teachings and practices of our church.  You can see one of the elders or pastors for more information.

Baptism

Baptism is a sign of God's covenant and is properly administered to children of believers in their infancy as well as to those who come as adults to trust in Christ.  Salvation is always God’s initiative and thus when we baptize someone we are recognizing the sovereign work of the Holy Spirit to bring someone to saving faith.  Baptism does not save but rather points to the grace of God which saves.

Infant Baptism: If you are a member of the church, your children ages 0-6 are eligible to be baptized as non-communicant members.  If you’d like to learn more about the Biblical basis for infant baptism we’d be happy to share some resources with you.

Child Baptism: If your child is age 7-12 and wishes to be baptized, he or she must go through a children’s membership curriculum offered by the church. Once the child is approved for membership, he or she will be baptized as a communicant member of the church.  

Adult Baptism: If you are a teenager or adult and wish to be baptized, you must go through the membership process. The first step is to meet with a pastor.  Then, you’ll be invited to meet with the Session (elders) to give your Christian testimony.  Lastly, baptism during Sunday worship will be the last step in the membership process.
